Position Description
We are seeking a Senior Cloud Architect with deep hands-on expertise in Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 / Entra ID to serve as Jolera's senior technical lead for our enterprise managed services customers. The ideal candidate has a strong background in production Azure operations, identity hardening, and direct customer-facing engineering work. This is a sustained, in-person engineering role requiring on-site presence multiple days per week. Remote and travel-based arrangements are not available for this position.
What You'll Do
- Own day-to-day Microsoft Azure operations across customer tenants, including IaaS and PaaS workloads, RBAC, conditional access, patching, and cost optimization
- Lead Microsoft 365 and Entra ID hardening, designing conditional access policies that hold up in production
- Manage enterprise multi-factor authentication administration across customer estates
- Coach customers' growing cloud footprints by providing recommendations, designs, and reviews before the engineering bench executes
- Triage and resolve identity incidents quickly, partnering with the Endpoint and Identity Operations team on threat investigations
- Build cost models, capacity forecasts, and FinOps recommendations the customer can act on
- Serve as the technical liaison between customers and Jolera's shared Cloud Engineering bench, owning the design while the bench executes
- Provide on-site technical leadership during customer change advisory boards, design sessions, and incident response activities
- 7+ years in enterprise cloud engineering, with at least 4 years focused on Microsoft Azure
- Deep Azure expertise across IaaS, PaaS, Entra ID, conditional access, RBAC, Azure Site Recovery, and cost management
- Solid Microsoft 365 administration background including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and Intune fundamentals
- Comfortable owning enterprise-scale multi-factor authentication administration
- Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to run a design review in front of a customer's CIO
- Located in or near Troy, MI, or willing to relocate. On-site three to five days per week is non-negotiable for this role
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Microsoft Azure certifications such as AZ-104 (Administrator), AZ-305 (Solutions Architect), or AZ-500 (Security)
- FinOps Foundation certification (FOCP)
- Prior experience leading identity platform migrations or consolidations
- Prior MSP, MSSP, or Global Systems Integrator (GSI) experience
- Familiarity with ServiceNow as the system of record for change, incident, and problem management
