IT System Administrator / Cloud Engineer

Office-based with hybrid after probation
Our client, a well-established and growing IT solutions provider, is looking to add a IT System Administrator / Cloud Engineer to their team. This is a genuine opportunity to join a stable, expanding company and grow with the business long-term.
Reporting to the Cloud Manager, you'll take ownership of maintaining and supporting both on-premises and Azure environments, playing a key role as the business continues to scale its IT infrastructure.
What You'll Be Doing
- Maintaining existing on-premises and Azure systems
- Researching, designing, and implementing new systems as required
- Providing technical support to internal staff and external customers
- Monitoring infrastructure for availability, performance, and security
- Producing regular system health and performance reports for senior management
Core Skills
- Windows Server administration (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy)
- Some Linux administration (CentOS, Debian, Bash scripting)
- Solid networking knowledge (protocols, troubleshooting, IP, routing, firewalls, VPNs)
- Experience with monitoring tools (Nagios, PRTG or similar)
- Scripting/automation experience with PowerShell, Python, or Azure CLI
- Azure Active Directory
- Virtual machine provisioning
- VNETs, NSGs, VPN Gateway, Load Balancing
- Key Vaults
- Storage: Blob, file, and disk services
- Backup and recovery
- Access control (RBAC)
- Azure SQL / Managed SQL Instances
- Web Apps
- Azure Monitoring / Database Watchers
- M365 administration
- Exchange Online
- Microsoft Defender Suite
Security & Compliance
- Awareness of ISO 27001, ISO 22301, and NIST CSF frameworks
- Solid grasp of security best practices
Soft Skills
- Fluent English with strong verbal and written communication
- Sharp attention to detail with strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Customer-focused approach
