Azure Application Architect

We're looking for an experienced Application Architect with a strong software engineering background to lead the design of modern enterprise applications throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). The ideal candidate will define application architecture, drive technical decisions, and design scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions leveraging Microsoft Azure application services and modern AI capabilities where they add business value.

Responsibilities:

• Design end-to-end architecture for enterprise applications
• Lead technical design throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
• Define application architecture, integration patterns, API strategy and security standards
• Design scalable, cloud-native applications using Microsoft Azure application services
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, Product Owners and development teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Evaluate and integrate AI capabilities into enterprise applications where appropriate
• Review technical designs and code to ensure architectural consistency and quality
• Mentor development teams and promote software engineering best practices

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field
• 7+ years of experience in software development, with experience in Application or Solution Architecture
• Strong understanding of software architecture principles and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
• Hands-on experience designing enterprise applications using Microsoft Azure
• Strong knowledge of Azure App Services, Azure Functions, API Management, Service Bus, Azure Storage, Microsoft Entra ID and Azure SQL
• Experience with REST APIs, microservices and event-driven architectures
• Solid understanding of application security, authentication and authorization
• Familiarity with Azure AI Services, Azure OpenAI or similar AI technologies
• Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills

Nice to have:

• Experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), AI Agents or Microsoft Copilot technologies
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with event-driven and distributed systems
• Microsoft Azure certifications
• Experience working in Agile development environments
