Job Description

Must Have Technical/Functional Skill

  • Strong experience with AWS data services: S3, Glue, EMR, Redshift, Athena, Lambda, Kinesis, RDS
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL (Scala is a plus)
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform / CloudFormation)
  • ETL/ELT processes
  • Distributed systems architectures
  • Big Data & Streaming Technologies
  • Experience with Apache Spark, EMR , Kafka or similar streaming platforms
  • Orchestration & Workflow Management
  • Familiarity with orchestration tools such as:
  • Apache Airflow
  • AWS Step Functions
  • Or equivalent workflow automation tools
  • Monitoring & Observability
  • Experience integrating and managing observability tools such as:
  • CloudWatch, Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana
  • Data Platform & Lakehouse Exposure
  • Experience working with Data Lake architectures
  • Understanding of modern data platform patterns

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage AWS-based data infrastructure using services such as S3, Glue, EMR, Redshift, Athena, Lambda, Kinesis, and RDS
  • Build and maintain scalable, fault-tolerant data pipelines supporting both batch and streaming workloads
  • Support data lake architectures and analytics platforms for enterprise use cases
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and/or AWS CloudFormation
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, deployments, and operational tasks via CI/CD pipelines
  • Continuously improve platform efficiency through automation and standardization
  • Performance Optimization & Cost Management
  • Optimize data storage, compute resources, and query performance to improve cost efficiency
  • Monitor and tune workloads for high availability, scalability, and performance
  • Security, Governance & Compliance
  • Ensure robust cloud security practices including IAM, encryption, VPC configurations, and secure access controls
  • Implement logging, auditing, and compliance frameworks aligned with enterprise policies
  • Enforce data governance and access control standards across platforms
  • Design and implement monito ring, alerting, and observability frameworks for data platforms
  • Integrate tools such as CloudWatch, Datadog, Prometheus, and Grafana
  • Develop dashboards, alerts, and SLIs/SLOs to ensure system reliability and performance
  • Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and platform teams to enable analytics use cases
  • Participate in architecture reviews and recommend best practices for AWS data platforms
  • Provide operational support and troubleshooting for platform incidents and performance issues

Salary Range: $140,000-$150,000 a year
