Senior DevOps Engineer (AWS)

Employment Type: Long Term ContractVisa: USC Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior DevOps Engineer with strong AWS expertise to design, implement, and manage scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with AWS services, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, containerization, Kubernetes, and monitoring tools. This role requires close collaboration with development, QA, and operations teams to automate deployments and improve system reliability.Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure following best practices.
• Build and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
• Develop, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or AWS CodePipeline.
• Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes (EKS).
• Configure and manage AWS networking components including VPC, Subnets, Route Tables, Security Groups, NAT Gateways, Load Balancers, and Route 53.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting using CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or Splunk.
• Automate operational tasks using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Ensure cloud security by implementing IAM policies, encryption, secrets management, and compliance controls.
• Optimize AWS infrastructure for performance, scalability, availability, and cost efficiency.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure, deployment, and application issues.
• Collaborate with developers to support application releases and production deployments.
• Participate in on-call support and incident management when required.

• 8+ years of DevOps/Cloud Engineering experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS Cloud Platform.
• Expertise in AWS services including:
• Strong experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes (EKS).
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, AWS CodePipeline, or similar tools.
• Strong scripting skills using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Experience with Git, GitHub, or Bitbucket.
• Experience with Linux system administration.
• Knowledge of networking, security, DNS, SSL/TLS, VPN, and firewalls.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as CloudWatch, Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, Datadog, or Splunk.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

• AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional.
• Experience with Ansible, Packer, or Chef.
• Experience with serverless architectures.
• Knowledge of microservices architecture.
• Experience with security and compliance frameworks.
• Experience with cost optimization and FinOps.
• Familiarity with ServiceNow or Jira.

• Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.
