Google Cloud Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Google Cloud Engineer to join our technology team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, securing, and optimizing cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You will work closely with software engineers, DevOps teams, and security specialists to build scalable, reliable, and cost-effective cloud solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Build and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available cloud environments.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred).
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for cloud-native applications.
• Monitor system performance, availability, and security.
• Implement cloud networking, IAM policies, and security best practices.
• Optimize cloud performance and infrastructure costs.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure, networking, and deployment issues.
• Collaborate with software engineering teams to support application deployment.
• Maintain documentation for cloud architecture, processes, and operational procedures.
• Stay up to date with new GCP services and cloud technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience working with Google Cloud Platform.
• Strong knowledge of core GCP services, including:
• Compute Engine
• Kubernetes Engine (GKE)
• Cloud Run
• Cloud Storage
• Cloud SQL
• BigQuery
• VPC Networking
• IAM
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred).
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Cloud Monitoring and Cloud Logging.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts, security, and identity management.
• Experience with Linux systems administration.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative environment.
• Professional proficiency in English.

Nice to Have

• Google Professional Cloud Engineer certification.
• Experience with Python, Go, or Bash scripting.
• Experience with multi-cloud environments (AWS or Azure).
• Familiarity with cloud security and compliance frameworks.
• Experience with container security and service mesh technologies.
• Knowledge of FinOps and cloud cost optimization.
