About the Job

We are looking for a Lead Software Architect to help shape CUE platform powering some of the world's most demanding newsrooms and publishers. You will join a small, senior architecture team at the centre of Stibo DX's transformation from self-hosted and hybrid deployments to a standardized, cloud-native SaaS platform. This is a hands-on, embedded role: you design with engineering teams and customers, define domain boundaries and blueprints, and turn strategy into buildable solutions, not architecture from an ivory tower.

You will work closely with peer architects covering Platform/Infrastructure and Data/Integration, reporting to the Director of Solution Architecture. Our governance model is "minimum necessary control", decisions close to teams, control proportional to risk.

What You'll Do

• Design end-to-end solutions across CUE products (Content Store, DAM, Print, Autopilot, etc.) from concept through to implementation alignment with engineering teams.
• Lead customer solution design for large, global publishers: translate complex, multi-channel media requirements into standardized solution designs, and drive migration from bespoke/hybrid setups to the standard platform.
• Apply Domain-Driven Design in practice: identify bounded contexts, define aggregates and domain models, map subdomains (core/supporting/generic), and establish a shared ubiquitous language with product and engineering.
• Define service/domain boundaries and blueprints, capability maps, domain target-state architectures, and roadmaps that guide multiple teams.
• Embed with domain teams: shepherd architecture decision records (ADRs), unblock design decisions, and raise the architectural bar through pairing and review, not mandates.
• Produce reusable reference architectures and design patterns that reduce fragmentation and accelerate delivery.
• Champion quality attributes in design: scalability, reliability, security (zero-trust principles), performance, and cost-awareness.
• Contribute to enterprise-level architecture decisions and standards as part of the architecture function.

What we're looking for

Experience

• 10+ years in software engineering, with 5+ years in a senior architecture role (Solution, Software, or Lead Architect)
• Proven experience designing and delivering cloud-native, microservices-based systems in production
• Strong, practical experience with Domain-Driven Design (DDD), bounded contexts, context mapping, aggregates, domain events, and domain decomposition
• End-to-end solution architecture experience across multiple teams or product areas
• Solid understanding of API-first design and event-driven architecture
• Experience in or migrating toward a SaaS / multi-tenant product context
• Strong software engineering background, you can still reason credibly about implementation
• Solid knowledge of AWS cloud and Kubernetes-based environments
• Solid grasp of security, scalability, reliability, and cost as first-class design concerns.

Nice to have

• Experience with GitOps / modern delivery and observability practices.
• Media, publishing, CMS/DAM, or content platforms
• AI-driven workflow or automation use cases
• Enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF) and capability/roadmap modeling

• Hands-on and credible with engineers, while able to communicate clearly with product, stakeholders, and customers
• Pragmatic, right-sizes architecture to risk, value, and delivery context rather than over-engineering
• Collaborative, structured, and comfortable working across teams, disciplines, and customer contexts
• Strong in documentation and decision-making practices, including making architectural decisions explicit through ADRs
• Curious, adaptable, quality-conscious, and motivated by shaping long-term architecture while enabling teams to deliver now
