At Tata Technologies we make product development dreams a reality by designing, engineering, and validating the products of tomorrow for the world’s leading manufacturers. Due to our continued growth, we are now recruiting for a Job Title to strengthen our team in Location.

Job Title: Automation Technician – Robotics & Mechatronics

Location: Winston Salem-winston, NC (Onsite)

Duration: Full time

The Opportunity

We are looking for an Automation Technician who isn't afraid to get their hands dirty building the most advanced production lines in the region.

This is a high-impact, practical role. You won’t just be pushing buttons; you will be wiring cells,

fabricating parts, and fine-tuning the robotic precision that builds our 6-phase inverters. For a

skilled technician, this is a "CV-defining" experience: the chance to help build and maintain a fully

automated automotive factory from the ground up. If you are a master of both the laptop and the

wrench, is where you belong.

The Mission

The Automation Technician is the primary "Builder and Fixer" of our automated production

environment. You are responsible for the physical assembly, wiring, and technical debugging of our

robotic cells and PLC-controlled lines. You bridge the gap between a digital program and a working machine, ensuring that every mechanical adjustment, electrical connection, and robot path is optimized for high-volume, "perfect quality" production.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Cell Assembly & Wiring: Physically assemble and wire automation cells from scratch.

This includes mounting Fanuc robots, installing Siemens PLC cabinets, routing cable trays,

and terminating I/O points with meticulous attention to detail.

• Robotic Debugging: Perform "hands-on" path teaching and refinement for Fanuc robotic

arms. You will debug programs on the floor, fine-tuning move points to optimize cycle time

and prevent mechanical interference.

• PLC & HMI Support: Assist in the debugging and modification of Siemens PLC

programs. You must be comfortable going "online" with the processor to troubleshoot rungs,

force I/O for testing, and make minor logic adjustments under engineering guidance.

• Mechanical Fabrication & Modification: Use manual tools, including mills and lathes, to

modify or repair end-effectors, brackets, and fixtures. You are the go-to person for "making

it fit" when a mechanical design needs a shop-floor adjustment.

• End-Effector Mastery: Build, disassemble, and repair complex end-of-arm tooling

(EOAT). This includes managing vacuum circuits, pneumatic actuators, and high-precision

sensors.

• Preventative Maintenance & 5S: Lead the 5S standards for automated cells. Maintain

sensors, optical paths for vision systems, and mechanical joints to ensure the line stays in

"as-new" condition.

• Rapid Response Troubleshooting: Act as the first line of defense for machine downtime.

Whether it's a blown fuse, a crashed robot, or a drifted sensor, you are the one who

diagnoses and fixes it to keep production moving.

Required Expertise: • Experience: 3-5+ years as an Automation or Mechatronics Technician in a high-tech manufacturing environment (Automotive or Electronics preferred). • Electrical Skills: Deep experience in industrial electrical work—reading schematics, wiring 24VDC and 480VAC circuits, and troubleshooting control loops. • Robotics & PLC: Practical experience with Fanuc Teach Pendants and Siemens TIA Portal. You should be comfortable "talking to the machine" via a laptop. • Mechanical Aptitude: Strong skills in manual machining (mill/lathe), pneumatic systems, and general mechanical assembly/disassembly. • Toolbox: You are a master of the multimeter, the soldering iron, and the torque wrench.

Why Join Tata Technologies?

  • Opportunity to lead high-impact industrial engineering initiatives.
  • Work in a dynamic and complex manufacturing environment.
  • Drive measurable operational improvements with minimal capital investment.
  • Be part of a culture focused on innovation, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence.

Interested candidates are encouraged to apply or share their updated resume.
