Level IV Modeling, Simulation & Controls Engineer

Locations: Folsom, CA | Long Beach, CA | Reno, NV

Salary: $140,000 - $165,000 + Bonus + Comprehensive Benefits

An exciting opportunity has arisen with an innovative aerospace and defence organisation developing advanced propulsion and flight technologies that support mission-critical national security programmes.

We're looking for an experienced Modeling, Simulation & Controls Engineer to join a growing engineering team working on next-generation propulsion and control systems.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on highly complex engineering challenges while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams developing cutting-edge aerospace technology.

Responsibilities

• Develop high-fidelity system models and simulations
• Design and implement control algorithms
• Build simulation architectures for aerospace systems
• Perform dynamic system analysis and trade studies
• Conduct Monte Carlo and sensitivity analyses
• Support propulsion performance modelling
• Develop physics-based models for mechanical, thermal and aerodynamic systems
• Support verification and validation activities
• Participate in SRR, PDR and CDR technical reviews
• Work closely with systems, software and test engineering teams

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical or Systems Engineering
• Approximately 7-12 years of aerospace or defence experience
• MATLAB & Simulink
• Python
• Dynamic systems modelling
• Control systems design
• Classical and modern control theory
• Excellent communication skills
