Work Location: Perth Office - Fortescue's Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.

Fortescue’s Autonomous Fleet Solutions team develops and delivers world-leading autonomy, electrification, and fleet management technologies.
Reporting to the Project Manager, the Project Lead will coordinate the planning, governance, and delivery of HaulX software and supporting technologies for Fortescue’s next-generation autonomous and battery-electric haulage systems.
The role will translate product and business priorities into executable delivery plans across product, engineering, testing and delivery teams as well as OEMs, and external technology partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, governance, and delivery of the HaulX work packages and related autonomy technology initiatives
- Manage project scope, schedule, cost, quality, risks, issues, dependencies, and resources
- Coordinate multifunctional teams to achieve business objectives and deliver on approved product road map
- Provide clear and timely reporting to senior stakeholders on project status, delivery confidence, risks, and required decisions
- Drive alignment across product, systems engineering, architecture, development, testing, operations, OEMs, and external delivery partners
- Manage supplier and OEM delivery performance against agreed scope, milestones, quality, and commercial commitments
- Ensure project activities comply with Fortescue safety, risk, governance, and operational standards.
- 3+ years’ project management experience delivering complex technology, mining systems, or autonomy projects; or equivalent
- Proven ability to manage scope, schedule, cost, quality, resources, and stakeholder expectations across multidisciplinary projects
- Experience in mining autonomy, fleet management, autonomous haulage, or related technologies is highly desirable
- Experience working across the software or systems development lifecycle, including requirements, design, development, integration, testing, release, and deployment
- Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders across engineering, product, operations, OEMs, suppliers, and senior leadership
- Ability to multitask across multiple priorities in dynamic, operationally constrained environments
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive reporting and communicating technical risks and delivery impacts
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a complex operational environment
- Tertiary qualification in project management, engineering, information technology, mining, or a related discipline would be desirable
- Project management certification such as PMP, PRINCE2, AgilePM, or equivalent would be desirable.
