Software Engineering Lead - Contract - 12 months

Job Summary / Overview

The Engineering Lead – CAS (Vendor) is responsible for ensuring technical alignment across engineering, project teams, site operations, product teams and external vendors throughout the Collision Avoidance System project lifecycle. This role provides technical leadership across requirements, design, integration and delivery activities while supporting safe, reliable and scalable system outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the primary technical coordination interface between vendors, engineering teams, project teams, product teams and site personnel.
• Support technical discussions, requirements clarification and design reviews with external vendors.
• Coordinate and track engineering artefacts throughout the product lifecycle.
• Document technical decisions, assumptions, deviations and clarifications.
• Facilitate resolution of technical issues and design challenges.
• Maintain visibility of vendor inputs, assumptions and responses.
• Ensure alignment between requirements, design artefacts and implementation outcomes.
• Identify and escalate technical risks, integration challenges and inconsistencies.
• Support engineering governance and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Communicate engineering intent clearly across stakeholder groups.

• 8+ years’ experience delivering complex systems or products.
• Demonstrated experience managing technical stakeholder relationships across engineering, operations, product delivery teams and external vendors.
• Strong background in software engineering, systems engineering, systems integration or hardware-integrated development.
• Knowledge of autonomous mining systems, collision avoidance technologies and safety-critical operational systems.
• Proven experience delivering software and hardware solutions through the product development lifecycle.
• Familiarity with ISO 21815 and ISO 61508-aligned development environments including ISO 26262 and EN 51708.
