Outpatient Medical Coder

This is a remote position.

We are seeking an experienced Outpatient Coding Specialist to accurately assign ICD-10-CM and CPT codes for a variety of outpatient services, including ambulatory procedures, diagnostic imaging, and clinic visits. This remote role is ideal for coders who excel in independent work environments and are motivated by performance-based compensation. Coders will be expected to maintain high productivity and quality standards while navigating complex documentation across multiple specialties.

• Code outpatient encounters with precision, excluding emergency department and professional billing charts • Interpret clinical documentation to ensure accurate code assignment and compliance with payer guidelines• Maintain productivity benchmarks (average 7 charts/hour) and quality scores above 95%• Collaborate with auditing teams for feedback and continuous improvement• Stay current with coding updates and regulatory changes

Requirements

• Certification: Active AHIMA or AAPC Certification (CPC, CCS, RHIT, or RHIA) required.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of outpatient hospital coding experience
• Technology: Proficiency withEPICand3M 360platforms.
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of outpatient coding guidelines and medical terminology
• Skills: High attention to detail, analytical thinking, and excellent communication.
• Work Environment: Remote work with flexible scheduling options.
