About the project:

The project funded by the Government focuses on developing and demonstrating drone and allied technologies. The project will address various applications through the utilization of advanced technologies and critical infrastructure. Strong industry connections and collaborations will be fostered to solve pertinent challenges and drive technological advancements. Additionally, comprehensive drone training and awareness programs will be provided to ensure proficiency and understanding among people.

Qualification and Key Skills Required:


  • PhD with relevant experience OR
  • MTech / ME or equivalent degree with relevant experience OR
  • BTech / BE or equivalent degree with relevant experience.
  • Design of mobile ground control vehicles: Specialized experience in the structural layout and mechanical modification of vehicles to serve as command centres.
  • Hardware Instrumentation: Hands-on expertise with required drone control hardware, including rack-mounted systems and workstation integration.
  • Drone Communication Systems: Selection, installation, and integration of instruments for drone communication, monitoring, and navigation.
  • Mechanical C Fabrication Skills: Strong proficiency in basic fabrication and knowledge of electro-mechanical systems to build physical structures like docking stations.
  • Software Familiarity: Working knowledge of ROS/GAZEBO and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for mission tools integration.


Job Profile:


  • Design and development of a mobile ground control station vehicle equipped with necessary drone control hardware and instruments.
  • Selection, installation, and integration of instruments for drone communication, monitoring, and navigation on the mobile ground station.
  • Design and fabrication of autonomous drone docking stations featuring automated battery charging/swapping and payload management.
  • Establishment of communication links for live streaming video from drones to the ground control station.
  • Integration of real-time video streaming capabilities and mission tools into the ground control system.
  • Maintenance and troubleshooting of electro-mechanical systems to ensure the mobile station is mission ready.
  • Execution of other tasks as assigned to support project requirements.
