Robotics Jobs Mexico City (Remote)

Rex.zone connects top robotics engineers with remote, full-time roles supporting global teams. You will build and validate reliable robotics software across perception, localization/mapping, motion planning, and control—using simulation and real-world testing to ensure safety, quality, and performance.

About The Role

As a Remote Robotics Engineer (Mexico City), you will design, implement, and validate robotics software for autonomous or semi-autonomous platforms. You will integrate sensors (camera, LiDAR, IMU), maintain ROS/ROS 2 packages, improve runtime stability, and contribute to CI-based testing and deployment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain robotics software components in C++ and Python for ROS/ROS 2
  • Build and tune SLAM, localization, and sensor fusion pipelines for robust state estimation
  • Implement and improve motion planning and control (trajectory generation, tracking, collision avoidance)
  • Integrate sensors/drivers; ensure time synchronization, calibration, and reliable data pipelines
  • Create simulation scenarios in Gazebo (or similar) to reproduce edge cases and validate behaviors
  • Define performance/safety/reliability metrics; run regression testing and post-mortem analysis
  • Collaborate with product, hardware, and QA teams to deliver features from prototype to production
  • Document architecture, interfaces, and procedures; participate in code reviews and standards

Required Qualifications

  • Mid-Senior experience delivering robotics or autonomous systems software
  • Strong C++ and Python skills with debugging, profiling, and optimization
  • Hands-on ROS/ROS 2: nodes, topics, TF, parameters, launch, bag workflows
  • Knowledge of SLAM/state estimation and sensor fusion fundamentals (e.g., EKF/UKF concepts)
  • Practical motion planning and control tuning experience
  • Experience with simulation and test automation; ability to reproduce issues and validate fixes
  • Comfort working remotely with distributed teams and async communication

Benefits / Compensation

  • Competitive hourly rate: $30–$50/hr (based on experience and fit)
  • Remote-first collaboration and modern robotics development workflows
  • Opportunities to work on production-grade autonomy, simulation, and testing pipelines
