Controls Project Lead

Responsibilities

Make an impact We are looking for a dedicated candidate to step into the role of Controls Project Lead working within our operations department with new customer projects in EMEA. You will be responsible for overseeing the technical delivery of the Controls part of the project including hardware and software, ensuring alignment with project scope, quality, budget and timeline. The position holder manages controls related risk, project milestones, and coordinates with internal departments and third-party suppliers. You will:

• Lead controls engineering implementation projects across Europe and the Middle East
• Act as the main point of contact for all project stakeholders and guide the project team
• Ensure projects are delivered according to Swisslog standards in terms of quality, timeline, and budget
• Manage project execution including planning, coordination, and risk management
• Conduct project reviews and ensure a smooth handover to Customer Service
• Select, coordinate, and monitor subcontractors

Application Requirements

What you need to succeed We are looking for a proactive and structured professional with a passion for automation and project delivery.

• Technical education in electrical engineering, mechatronics, automation, or similar
• Several years of experience in project execution, ideally within PLC or automation projects
• Basic project management knowledge or initial leadership experience is a plus
• Strong understanding of automation systems
• High level of ownership, initiative, and a structured way of working
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
• Willingness to travel (approximately 40%)
• You have a valid drivers license.
