Research Positions

Applications are invited for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in the research project focused on Aerial Robotics, Autonomous Drones, and Digital Twin Technology at Mahindra University. The project aims to integrate digital twin technology with autonomous drone systems.

Job Description

The JRF will be involved in the development, simulation, and testing of autonomous drone systems integrated with digital twin technology. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and developing autonomous drone systems.
  • Integrating digital twin models for real-time simulation and monitoring of drone performance.
  • Developing algorithms for autonomous navigation, path planning, and obstacle avoidance.
  • Implementing sensor fusion and real-time decision-making systems for drone autonomy.
  • Conducting field testing to validate digital twin models and optimize system performance.
  • Collaborating with a research team and contributing to publications, project reports, and presentations.

Number of Positions: 01

Project Duration: 1 year (extendable based on the candidate’s performance)

Note: If the candidate fulfills the institute’s criteria, admission to the Ph.D. program may be considered.

Essential Qualifications

  • M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electronics and Communications, Robotics, or a related field.
  • B.Tech candidates with a solid foundation in the relevant fields may also be considered.
  • Familiarity with aerial robotics, autonomous drone systems, and digital twin technology is desirable.

Skills Required

  • Strong programming skills (Python, C++, MATLAB).
  • Experience with robotics platforms (ROS, ISSAC), drone control systems, and sensor integration.
  • Familiarity with digital twin technology, simulation tools (Gazebo, MATLAB, UNITY), and drone navigation algorithms.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills for system optimization and troubleshooting.

Salary: CTC 4 to 5 lakhs per annum
