Indexed description

Greentick is partnering with a premier, cutting-edge technology provider specializing in Avionics, Robotics, and Autonomous Systems to find an exceptional builder to join their team. Backed by an established 30-year industrial group legacy, this specialized engineering hub is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of unmanned aviation. They design and customize every layer of their technology stack from scratch—developing next-generation multi-rotor, fixed-wing, and hybrid VTOL platforms for the Defense, Agriculture, Infrastructure, and Surveying sectors.

If you have soldered a flight controller at midnight, tuned a PID loop in the field, and shipped point-cloud data from a LiDAR you integrated yourself, we want to hear from you.

Role Overview

  • Department: Avionics & Autonomous Systems
  • Location: New Delhi (On-site / Field Deployments)
  • Experience: 0–3 years (Freshers with a strong project portfolio are highly welcome)
  • Qualification: M.Tech – Electronics & Communication Engineering (or closely related disciplines like Avionics, Embedded Systems, Robotics, or Mechatronics)

Key Responsibilities

  • Drone & VTOL Platform Development: Design, build, and commission multi-rotor, fixed-wing, and hybrid VTOL platforms from scratch or around open-source frames; select and tune flight controllers (Pixhawk/PX4, ArduPilot), ESCs, and power systems; perform flight-dynamics analysis and PID control-loop tuning.
  • Sensor Integration & Aggregation: Integrate and synchronize heterogeneous sensor suites (IMU, barometer, RTK-GNSS, optical flow, etc.); design sensor-fusion pipelines (EKF2); develop time-stamped data-aggregation buses (CAN, I2C, SPI, UART, Ethernet).
  • LiDAR & Perception: Integrate scanning and solid-state LiDAR units for collision avoidance and 3-D mapping; process point-cloud data in real time using ROS 2 / PCL; build SLAM pipelines (LOAM, LIO-SAM, Fast-LIO) for GPS-denied navigation.
  • Payload Integration: Design mechanical and electrical interfaces for custom payloads; write firmware/drivers (C/C++, Python) to expose payload telemetry; build MAVLink / DDS-ROS 2 bridges and ground-control software plugins.
  • Open-Source Software Stack: Customize PX4 Autopilot and ArduPilot firmware (C++); build ROS 2 packages for mission management and path planning (Nav2); utilize simulation environments (Gazebo, AirSim, SITL) for HIL/SITL validation.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Core Electronics & ECE: RF link budgets, antenna design, spectrum compliance; schematic capture and PCB layout (KiCad / Altium) for carrier and power-distribution boards; power electronics (LiPo/Li-ion battery management, DC-DC regulators).
  • Embedded Firmware: Highly proficient in C and C++ for bare-metal and RTOS environments (NuttX, FreeRTOS, Zephyr); experience with STM32, NXP i.MX RT, or similar ARM Cortex microcontrollers; debugging via JTAG/SWD, logic analyzers, and oscilloscopes.
  • Open-End Software: ROS 2 (Humble / Jazzy: nodes, topics, services, actions, transforms, rosbag); PX4 source tree customization; Python ecosystem (NumPy, SciPy, Open3D, OpenCV); Linux administration and Docker build environments.
  • LiDAR & Point-Cloud: PCL (filtering, segmentation, registration); ROS 2 LiDAR drivers and open-source SLAM frameworks (LIO-SAM, FAST-LIO2, Cartographer).

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Valid DGCA Remote Pilot Certificate.
  • Computer vision experience (stereo depth, visual odometry, object detection like YOLO, DepthAI).
  • Photogrammetry pipelines (Agisoft Metashape, OpenDroneMap).
  • Active GitHub portfolio showing contributions to open-source UAV/robotics projects.

What is Offered

  • Access to a fully equipped, advanced avionics lab, machine shop, and private outdoor test range.
  • Dedicated budget to prototype and acquire cutting-edge sensors, single-board computers, and airframes.
  • Fast-track growth into Lead / Principal Engineer roles based entirely on demonstrated engineering output.
  • Genuine support for open-source contributions.
