Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Application Engineer to provide hands-on technical support for OEM customers integrating advanced electric vehicle systems into their platforms. This role serves as the primary technical liaison throughout the integration process, supporting installation, troubleshooting, system validation, and customer success. The ideal candidate has a strong background in electric vehicle technologies, systems integration, and cross-functional engineering collaboration, along with exceptional communication and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to OEM customers throughout the integration and installation process, including:
- Mechanical mounting and physical interfaces
- High-voltage (HV) and low-voltage (LV) electrical systems
- Software, controls, CAN communication, diagnostics, and vehicle interfaces
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customer projects, leading technical discussions, design reviews, issue resolution, and engineering support activities.
- Analyze customer technical requirements during project planning and collaborate with Business Development to accurately scope engineering efforts.
- Develop and maintain system architecture documentation defining interfaces between customer systems, internal products, and third-party components across mechanical, electrical, and software disciplines.
- Evaluate customer safety, regulatory, crashworthiness, and functional safety requirements to determine system feasibility and engineering impacts.
- Collaborate with internal engineering teams to assess impacts to existing products and identify required modifications to support customer applications.
- Troubleshoot software, controls, and system integration issues, performing root cause analysis and developing effective corrective actions.
- Diagnose electrical issues including wiring, connector interfaces, pinouts, harness integrity, and vehicle communication problems affecting overall system performance.
- Analyze CAN communication using tools such as CANalyzer and utilize engineering instrumentation including oscilloscopes and data acquisition tools to evaluate high-voltage system performance.
- Work directly with customer technicians and internal engineering teams to perform repairs, validate solutions, and implement corrective actions in both laboratory and vehicle environments.
- Build strong technical relationships with OEM customers and third-party partners through responsive support and collaborative problem-solving.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve engineering processes, integration methodologies, documentation, and product quality.
