Robotics Software Engineer

Who we are

Tensar builds AI-powered autonomous systems for the security industry. Edge computing, computer vision, flight control, fully autonomous systems. We're expanding the engineering team in this rapidly growing industry.

What you'll do

You'll own real capabilities on one of our UAV platforms, end to end. That covers architecture, proof-of-concept, bench testing and benchmarking, field testing, and the improvement cycle that follows. You'll move across the stack wherever the work demands, from control to perception to integration and tooling. This is a role with real ownership, not a queue of tickets to work through.

What you bring

Technical:

• 3+ years of professional software development (or a portfolio that speaks louder than years)
• Python daily; comfortable living in a Linux stack
• ROS2 – nodes, topics, services, tf
• Computer vision – detection and tracking, OpenCV or equivalent
• Comfortable integrating sensors and actuators into userspace software – serial (USB/UART), UDP/TCP – not firmware, but making hardware talk to your code
• Git & GitHub, Docker basics

Strongly preferred:

• Sensor fusion – filtering, state estimation, fusing multiple sensors
• GIS/Mapping – coordinate systems, geospatial data, terrain queries

Nice to have:

• Edge deployment and resource-constrained environments
• GStreamer – video streaming pipelines

• Get shit done mentality

• No ego problem – you want what's best for the product, not for your image
• You take input and give honest feedback
