Robotics Deployment Engineer
Indexed description
Your role will focus on the design, integration, and physical deployment of our product. You will become the vital bridge between our advanced software stack and the physical hardware, managing the full lifecycle of a customer project from initial concept to final on-site commissioning. To ensure seamless hardware-software compatibility, you will design the physical layout, specify electrical requirements, program the core PLC logic, and lead the physical integration and testing. We expect you to participate heavily in deployments at customers' facilities, ensuring our intelligent software functions flawlessly in real-world industrial environments.
Requirements
What you'll be doing
- Design and simulate 3D robotic palletizing cell optimization and safe-guarding, according to customer's floor constraints
- Develop and program PLC logic to manage peripheral components like conveyors, sensors, and grippers
- Specify and architect electrical panel requirements and validate their electrical schematics
- Design or spec End-of-Arm Tooling (EoAT) tailored to handle diverse customer packaging types
- Lead the hands-on assembly, testing, and commissioning of the physical systems in our workshop and deploy them directly to customer facilities
- Degree in Mechatronics, Automation, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- Strong hands-on experience in industrial automation and robotics integration
- Proficiency at Siemens TIA Portal
- Strong skills in 3D CAD software for layout and mechanical component design
- Solid understanding of industrial safety architectures, risk assessments, and safety components (light curtains, area scanners, E-stops)
- Experience with industrial networking protocols (EtherNet/IP, PROFINET)
- Willingness to travel to customer sites for physical installations and deployment phases
- Learning fast, possessing a "get-it-done" startup mindset, and being a strong team player
- Direct experience designing or integrating robotic palletizing or material handling systems
- Hands-on experience configuring industrial robot arms (e.g., FANUC, Yaskawa, ABB, UR)
- Experience managing external vendors, suppliers, or outsourced electrical panel shops
- Knowledge of safety electrical compliance standards (such as UL 508A or CE/EN standards)
