About the Role
We are seeking a motivated Powertrain Engineer with experience in MATLAB, Simulink, and Model-Based Development (MBD) to support the development, validation, and optimization of powertrain control systems. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to develop control algorithms, simulate system behavior, and support software integration activities for engine, transmission, hybrid, or electrified powertrain applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain control system models using MATLAB/Simulink.
- Design, implement, and validate powertrain control algorithms using Model-Based Development (MBD) methodologies.
- Perform model simulation, testing, and verification to ensure compliance with system requirements.
- Generate production-ready code using automatic code generation tools.
- Support calibration, integration, and validation activities for powertrain control systems.
- Analyze system performance and troubleshoot control software issues.
- Collaborate with software, systems, validation, and calibration engineers.
- Participate in requirement reviews, design reviews, and technical discussions.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, test reports, and model documentation.
- Support SIL (Software-in-the-Loop), MIL (Model-in-the-Loop), and HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) testing activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Mechatronics Engineering
- Automotive Engineering
- Computer Engineering
- Related Engineering Discipline
- 1–4 years of experience in Powertrain Controls, Embedded Systems, or Model-Based Development.
- Strong experience with:
- MATLAB
- Simulink
- Stateflow
- Model-Based Design methodologies
- Understanding of powertrain systems including:
- Engine Controls
- Transmission Controls
- Hybrid Powertrain Systems
- Electrified Powertrain Systems
- Experience with testing and validation tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with:
- Embedded C Programming
- AUTOSAR
- Vector CANoe/CANalyzer
- dSPACE Tools
- ETAS INCA
- HIL/SIL/MIL Testing
- Knowledge of automotive communication protocols:
- CAN
- LIN
- Ethernet
- Familiarity with software development lifecycle processes.
- Understanding of automotive standards and quality processes.
