About the Role

We are seeking a motivated Powertrain Engineer with experience in MATLAB, Simulink, and Model-Based Development (MBD) to support the development, validation, and optimization of powertrain control systems. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to develop control algorithms, simulate system behavior, and support software integration activities for engine, transmission, hybrid, or electrified powertrain applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain control system models using MATLAB/Simulink.
  • Design, implement, and validate powertrain control algorithms using Model-Based Development (MBD) methodologies.
  • Perform model simulation, testing, and verification to ensure compliance with system requirements.
  • Generate production-ready code using automatic code generation tools.
  • Support calibration, integration, and validation activities for powertrain control systems.
  • Analyze system performance and troubleshoot control software issues.
  • Collaborate with software, systems, validation, and calibration engineers.
  • Participate in requirement reviews, design reviews, and technical discussions.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, test reports, and model documentation.
  • Support SIL (Software-in-the-Loop), MIL (Model-in-the-Loop), and HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) testing activities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in:
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Mechatronics Engineering
  • Automotive Engineering
  • Computer Engineering
  • Related Engineering Discipline
  • 1–4 years of experience in Powertrain Controls, Embedded Systems, or Model-Based Development.
  • Strong experience with:
  • MATLAB
  • Simulink
  • Stateflow
  • Model-Based Design methodologies
  • Understanding of powertrain systems including:
  • Engine Controls
  • Transmission Controls
  • Hybrid Powertrain Systems
  • Electrified Powertrain Systems
  • Experience with testing and validation tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with:
  • Embedded C Programming
  • AUTOSAR
  • Vector CANoe/CANalyzer
  • dSPACE Tools
  • ETAS INCA
  • HIL/SIL/MIL Testing
  • Knowledge of automotive communication protocols:
  • CAN
  • LIN
  • Ethernet
  • Familiarity with software development lifecycle processes.
  • Understanding of automotive standards and quality processes.
