The company is focused on developing advanced robotic solutions, with a strong emphasis on engineering disciplines such as ROS, sensor fusion, and controls. The founder provides the patent, product roadmap, and deep domain expertise, and is seeking a technical co-founder to lead all engineering execution. As a co-founder, you will collaborate closely to shape the technology, the product, and the company’s growth from the ground up.
Role Description The Technical Co-Founder will lead end-to-end engineering execution for Solaxe Technologies Inc., working on-site full time in Buffalo, NY. Day-to-day responsibilities include architecting and implementing robotics software using ROS, designing and integrating sensor fusion pipelines, and developing control systems for reliable, real-world performance. The role involves building and managing the technical roadmap, setting engineering best practices, and collaborating on product strategy and milestones with the founding team. This position also includes hands-on prototyping, testing, and iterating on hardware-software integration, as well as guiding technical hiring and vendor selection as the company scales. The Technical Co-Founder will actively contribute to long-term vision, participate in investor and partner discussions, and help establish a strong engineering culture.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Analytical Skills and Research capabilities to design, evaluate, and optimize complex robotic systems.
- Candidates should possess clear and effective Communication skills to collaborate with the founding team, present technical concepts, and engage with partners and investors.
- Candidates should possess foundational Sales and Marketing awareness to support technical storytelling, product positioning, and customer-focused solution design.
- Candidates should have deep hands-on experience with ROS, sensor fusion, and control systems, including implementation, testing, and debugging in real-world environments.
- Candidates should ideally have experience in robotics, mechatronics, or a related engineering field, with a background such as a bachelor’s or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or similar.
- Candidates should demonstrate startup readiness, including comfort with ambiguity, a willingness to take ownership, and the ability to work on-site in a small, fast-moving team.
- Candidates should have familiarity with modern software development practices (version control, CI/CD, code review) and proficiency in languages commonly used in robotics, such as C++ and Python.
