About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Computer Vision Engineer to join an innovative engineering team in Lund, developing next-generation vision systems for advanced robotics and automation applications.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on cutting-edge computer vision technologies, developing and deploying AI-powered perception systems that operate in real-world environments. You'll collaborate closely with software, robotics, and hardware engineers to design robust vision solutions from data collection through to deployment on embedded edge devices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and optimise computer vision algorithms for real-world robotic and automation applications.
- Build and maintain data collection systems and scalable data pipelines for machine learning development.
- Develop, train and validate deep learning models for object detection, tracking, classification and recognition.
- Deploy and optimise AI models on embedded edge platforms, including NVIDIA Jetson devices.
- Work with 3D sensing technologies including LiDAR, depth cameras and event cameras.
- Process and analyse point cloud data for perception and localisation applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to integrate vision systems into robotic platforms.
- Improve model accuracy, performance and reliability for production environments.
- Follow software engineering best practices including CI/CD, version control, unit testing and code reviews.
Required Skills & Experience
- Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years' industry experience developing computer vision solutions for commercial applications.
- Strong programming skills in Python and C++.
- Experience with computer vision and deep learning frameworks such as OpenCV, TensorFlow and/or PyTorch.
- Experience training machine learning models using GPUs.
- Hands-on experience deploying models onto embedded platforms such as NVIDIA Jetson.
- Strong understanding of:
- Feature extraction
- Object detection
- Object tracking
- Image recognition
- Experience working with 3D sensors including LiDAR, depth cameras or event cameras.
- Knowledge of point cloud processing techniques.
- Familiarity with modern software development practices including Git, CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
