Engineering Leader | £100,000 | Maidenhead
We're supporting a pioneering engineering business developing next-generation autonomous systems for defence and commercial applications. Working at the intersection of robotics, software, electronics and aerospace, they've built a reputation for moving quickly, solving difficult problems and delivering technology that genuinely matters.
As an Engineering Leader, you'll provide technical leadership, direction and coaching to a multidisciplinary team developing complex systems from concept through to deployment.
You'll help shape engineering standards, guide technical decision-making, support programme delivery and build a culture where talented engineers can do their best work.
This role would suit someone who has already stepped into engineering leadership, or perhaps a Principal or Lead Engineer who naturally gravitates towards mentoring, influencing and driving technical direction.
The domain experience is flexible. You might come from aerospace, defence, autonomy, robotics, embedded software, electronics or another safety-critical engineering environment. What's more important is your ability to lead engineers, make good technical decisions and bring clarity to complex problems.
You'll be joining a business at a particularly exciting stage of growth, with the opportunity to influence both the technology roadmap and the engineering culture as the organisation continues to scale.
What they're looking for:
- Previous experience leading engineers within a complex technical environment
- Background in one or more of: software, electronics, autonomy, robotics, avionics or aerospace systems
- Strong systems thinking and engineering judgement
- Experience operating within regulated or safety-critical environments
- Eligibility to obtain UK Security Clearance
What's on offer:
- Salary up to £100,000
- 9-day fortnight
- Share incentive plan
- Healthcare cash plan
- Enhanced parental leave
- Free lunch on working Fridays
If you enjoy building high-performing engineering teams and still like being close enough to the technology to influence it, this is worth a conversation.
