Simulation Engineer (Isaac Sim / Robotics Simulation)- Foundational Team

Location: [NYC / On-site]

Experience: 5+ years

Build the simulation layer that bridges robotics software and the physical world.

We're looking for a Simulation Engineer to join an early-stage robotics company building high-fidelity simulation infrastructure for autonomous systems.

This is not a macro-factory, operations, or research simulation role.

We're looking for engineers who have personally built, calibrated, validated, and deployed robotics simulations that accurately represent real-world hardware and sensing systems.

What you'll do

  • Own the end-to-end onboarding of customer robotics systems into simulation
  • Translate physical robots, sensors, and environments into validated digital twins
  • Build and calibrate simulations for cameras, LiDAR, radar, and other sensing modalities
  • Work directly with customers to close the gap between simulation and reality
  • Design and execute fidelity validation plans against real-world data
  • Build Python tooling and automation to make simulation onboarding scalable
  • Improve internal infrastructure around calibration, testing, validation, and simulation workflows

What we're looking for

Required

  • 5+ years building and calibrating robotics or hardware simulations
  • Strong Python skills for testing, tooling, automation, and data analysis
  • Professional experience in robotics, autonomy, or simulation engineering
  • Experience taking simulation environments from concept to validation
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with customers

Preferred

  • NVIDIA Isaac Sim
  • Isaac Lab
  • NVIDIA Omniverse
  • Digital twin development
  • ROS / ROS2
  • C++
  • Rust

Strong signals

We'll be particularly interested in people who have:

  • Built simulation infrastructure used by engineering teams
  • Developed digital twins of physical robotic systems
  • Built or calibrated camera, LiDAR, radar, thermal, or other sensor simulations
  • Worked on simulation fidelity, validation, and sim-to-real transfer
  • Created automated testing, validation, or CI/CD workflows around simulation
  • Generated synthetic data using simulation platforms
  • Worked across perception, localization, planning, manipulation, or autonomy systems

Less relevant backgrounds

This role is unlikely to be a fit if your experience is primarily:

  • Factory flow or supply-chain simulation
  • Plant-level optimization
  • Pure controls without simulation ownership
  • Sensor integration without simulation of those sensors
  • Research-only simulation work without deployment or validation responsibility

Ideal profile

You've built simulation systems rather than simply used them.

You understand how sensors behave in the real world.

You've worked through the difficult process of improving simulation fidelity, validating against hardware, and earning trust from engineering teams that rely on your simulations to make decisions.

Location: US-based- NYC

Compensation: Competitive salary + equity

Interested? I'd love to speak with engineers who've built simulation platforms, digital twins, or

sensor simulations in robotics and autonomy environments.
