About you and the role
We are seeking an Electronics Engineer to join our R&D team and support the development, integration, and testing of electronic and avionics systems for our fixed-wing VTOL drone, pick-up station and base station including charging infrastructure.
What you will do
- Develop, integrate, and test hardware, sensors, and electronic subsystems for Newtons delivery drone, pick-up station and base station including charging infrastructure.
- Perform hardware commissioning, debugging, and environmental robustness testing.
- Analyze flight-test and bench-test data to refine system reliability and performance.
- Support safety assessments, documentation, and ensure compliance with drone regulations.
- Work with external research and industrial partners.
- Support manufacturing and assembly of prototypes.
What we expect
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
- Strong experience with embedded electronics and sensor integration.
- Proficiency in C/C++ and Python.
- Experience with real-time embedded systems and common communication interfaces.
- Experience in building drones and/or model aircrafts.
- Hands-on experience with UAV, avionics, or robotics.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with power electronics, battery technology, electric propulsion systems, and EMI/EMC.
- Knowledge of autonomy-related systems and fault-tolerant architectures.
- Familiarity with safety standards.
- Experience with hardware-in-the-loop testing and advanced debugging.
- Background in PCB design, FPGA systems, or high-speed electronics.
