Data Engineer - Mobility & Geospatial Data Platform

Type: Full-time

Location: Athens, Greece (or Remote) | Hybrid

As a Data Engineer at Mobito, you will play a key role in the technical architecture, design, and development of our core mobility data products. Your expertise will directly influence the product's capability to standardise varying data sources into meaningful and reliable products.

What you’ll do

• Understand the various raw data sources and propose transformations to derive meaningful data products.
• Optimise and enhance our data ingestion, storage, and processing methodologies.
• Design, develop and maintain data pipelines using ETL processes.
• Build scalable, highly performant infrastructure for delivering clear business insights from a variety of raw data sources.
• Develop batch & real-time analytical solutions, prototypes, and proofs of concept for selected solutions.

What we’re looking for

• 2-4 years of experience in data engineering or a related role.
• Proficient in Scala, Java, or Python, with a strong preference for Scala.
• Experience in SQL.
• Experience in data pipeline and ETL tools.
• Experience in Big Data technologies, indicatively with Spark for processing large-scale data.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with Streaming technologies, indicatively with Spark Streaming, Flink, Kafka, Kinesis.
• Ability to build CI/CD pipelines using modern automation tools like GitHub actions and Bitbucket Pipelines.
• Knowledge of AWS data engineering services.
• Experience with geolocation data.
