An innovative engineering consultancy specialising in safety-critical systems is looking for a Safety & Reliability Engineer to join its growing engineering team in Friedrichshafen.
This is an opportunity to work on technically challenging projects across industries such as aviation, rail, defence and automotive, supporting the development of safe, reliable embedded systems throughout the complete product lifecycle.
Your Responsibilities
- Perform safety and reliability analyses including FMEA, FMEDA, FMECA and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA)
- Develop and manage safety requirements throughout the development lifecycle
- Conduct system safety assessments in accordance with standards such as ARP4754/4761, ISO 26262 and EN 50126/50129
- Define safety objectives and derive quantitative safety requirements
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations
- Collaborate closely with systems, software, electronics and data engineering teams
- Support technical communication with internal and external stakeholders
What You'll Bring
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering or a related engineering discipline
- Minimum 3 years' experience in Safety or Reliability Engineering
- Practical experience performing FMEA, FMEDA, FMECA and Fault Tree Analysis
- Knowledge of safety standards such as ARP4754/4761, ISO 26262 or comparable frameworks
- Experience working with embedded systems or ECUs
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- German language skills at C1 level
- English at B2 level or higher
- Willingness to work primarily on-site in Friedrichshafen
Nice to Have
- Experience with Reliability Workbench, Medini Analyse or similar safety tools
- Background in aerospace, rail, defence or automotive engineering
- Experience communicating with technical customers
