- Sensor modeling; decomposing product formation elements to quantify the overall quality of the image chain.
- Algorithm assessment to quantify the performance of a product given desire mission application.
- Performing baseline assessment of system performance to support sensor initialization.
- Operational monitoring of system performance over time.
- Responding to detected errors and artifacts by recommending possible causes and corrective actions.
- Must possess and be able to maintain a TS/SCI clearance with polygraph
- 8 to 10 years of experience with a BS, 6 to 8 years with a MS, or 3 to 5 years with a PhD
- A degree in Imaging Science or Engineering
- Experienced in Image Science (Phenomenology, Sensor technology, Image Processing)
- Understanding of Image chain analysis to include sensor modeling, signal quality and noise, optics, detector calibration, and image processing of pixel data.
- Understanding and application of image quality standards, scales, metrics, and image quality equations.
- Applied knowledge of sensor imaging systems, products, and exploitation processes
- Understanding of the systems engineering lifecycle, including independent testing and data verification
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Willingness to learn, solve problems, and perform in a dynamic work environment
- Degree in Image Science, Field of Engineering, or Physics
- Understanding of the enterprise TCPED process
- A basic understanding of RF analysis and potential antenna modeling
- Experience working in a DoD or IC operational environment
- Experience working on Product Initialization teams
- Understanding of Machine Learning and Neural Network algorithms
- Experience developing engineering code (e.g. C, Python, Matlab, IDL) to solve hard problems and create processes for repeatable results.
