Our client is a global technology organization for whom protecting critical data platforms is core to the business. They're hiring a hands-on Senior Data Security Architect to take ownership of the security and compliance posture across their cloud database estate, spanning Oracle on OCI and PostgreSQL environments.
This is a role for someone who can set technical direction and get into the details — defining the security roadmap for business-critical data infrastructure at enterprise scale, in a regulated, international setting. You'll lead a dedicated security squad while working closely with platform architects, operations, and governance stakeholders across the business.
It's a great fit if you enjoy building secure-by-design infrastructure, turning regulatory requirements into practical engineering controls, and coaching engineers while staying technically active yourself.
Responsibilities
- Architect end-to-end security for Oracle (OCI) and PostgreSQL database platforms — encryption, key management, hardening
- Design and enforce Zero Trust controls for cloud database networking (private endpoints, segmentation, certificate management)
- Run threat-modelling exercises and turn findings into concrete engineering fixes
- Own identity and access integration with Microsoft Entra ID — OAuth/OIDC, Conditional Access, PIM
- Build out vulnerability management and DevSecOps practices for the database platform
- Act as the go-to contact during security audits, driving remediation and follow-through
- Lead and mentor a cross-functional security squad — priorities, incidents, stakeholder communication
What You'll Bring
- Hands-on experience securing Oracle Database (incl. Advanced Security) and PostgreSQL in cloud environments
- Strong OCI security and networking background, with solid cloud database infrastructure knowledge
- Track record in network security, certificate lifecycle, and secrets management
- Deep working knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID and identity-based database access
- Familiarity with frameworks such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, CIS Benchmarks, or DORA
- Experience leading or tech-leading teams in agile/DevOps setups
- Strong communicator, comfortable translating security topics for technical and non-technical audiences
What's On Offer
- Hybrid working model, with up to 25 days/year available for working abroad
- Performance-based bonus scheme, pension, employee share program, and local discount benefits
- Strong investment in career growth — digital learning, international mobility, structured development paths
- Flexible working plus health, wellbeing, and parental leave support
