About the role and team

Over the past five years, Uber Eats has captured the hearts of customers across Taiwan, growing from a service in Taipei to an island-wide movement. We've gone from delivering delicious food to providing essential daily goods. This explosive growth is a testament to our team's talent and dedication. We thrive on challenges and believe that tackling them together makes the journey even more rewarding.

Our team operates with a #GoGetIt attitude, a mindset that defines the spirit of Uber Delivery. We're focused on creating a healthy marketplace for everyone and ensuring our merchant partners and driver partners thrive, which in turn provides the best possible experience for our customers.

Merchants are the backbone of our business. From beloved global chains to local mom-and-pop shops, they create the vibrant food culture that has made Uber Eats Taiwan one of our most successful markets globally. This role is at the heart of our strategy, sales, and operations for merchants.

Uber Eats is looking to grow the Merchant Growth team in Taiwan. As the Merchant Operations Manager for Affordability, you will play a pivotal role in leading and driving Taiwan's marketplace competitiveness and affordability strategy. This workstream sits at a high-stakes intersection of merchant revenue, consumer offerings, and P&L governance, requiring a sharp blend of strategic thinking, commercial acumen, and real accountability.

This is a highly visible role dealing with high stakeholder complexity across local Account Management, Consumer Operations, Commercial Operations, Finance, Legal, and Global/Regional Product teams. If you thrive in ambiguous environments, enjoy building strategic frameworks from scratch rather than just executing existing playbooks, and want to exercise serious commercial muscle, this role provides an exceptional platform for impact. You will champion critical platform affordability initiatives-such as managing menu price inflation and executing In-Store Price (ISP) strategies, to maintain a healthy, thriving marketplace for our partners and consumers.

What you'll do

  • Own Affordability & Competitiveness Strategy: Drive Taiwan's overarching affordability framework. Proactively monitor and mitigate menu price inflation to ensure long-term platform competitiveness and marketplace health.
  • Drive End-to-End GTM Execution: Lead the go-to-market strategy, product champion rhythms, and experimentation for affordability products and pricing features. Successfully scale pilots (such as the In-Store Price MVP initiative) into seamless, nationwide operational rollouts.
  • P&L Governance & Financial Modeling: Embed robust P&L thinking into all affordability and promotion levers. Analyze marketplace dynamics, evaluate the commercial health and ROI of affordability programs, and align closely with Finance to ensure investments meet country-level strategic objectives.
  • Advanced Analytics & Data Infrastructure: Own the full analysis lifecycle, from writing complex SQL queries to data modeling and insight development. Build, overhaul, and maintain central performance tracking dashboards, ensuring local structures scale cleanly and align with Global reporting standards.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership & Sales Enablement: Partner deeply with local Account Management teams to build commercial frameworks, synthesize merchant sentiments, and arm internal teams with the playbooks and resources required to unlock merchant growth.

Basic Qualifications
  • Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in operations, product management, corporate strategy, or data analytics, ideally within eCommerce, marketplace apps, tech, or fast-paced corporate environments.
  • Analytical & Modeling Skills: Advanced analytical capabilities with a proven track record of handling complex data. Highly comfortable writing SQL queries, building comprehensive financial or performance models, and managing data dashboards to track core business success metrics.
  • GTM & Project Autonomy: Demonstrated capability to design, launch, and optimize high-impact GTM strategies or complex cross-functional programs from ideation to execution with complete autonomy.
  • Commercial Acumen & P&L Understanding: Strong grasp of business financials, revenue operations, or P&L governance, with the ability to translate technical data analysis into actionable commercial recommendations.
  • Stakeholder Management: Exceptional communication skills with a proven ability to influence, collaborate, and align diverse local and international teams (Finance, Product, Legal, and Ops).
  • Language Proficiency: Fluency in both written and verbal English and Mandarin.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience in the food and beverage (F&B) industry, retail tech, or a high-growth startup/marketplace operations environment.
  • Proven experience in sales enablement, managing commercial deal desks, or developing co-marketing/pricing frameworks alongside business partners.
  • Strong background in experiment design, A/B testing (XP), or running incrementality testing to guide complex business decisions.
