About the Role
Postmates is looking for a Senior Strategy & Operations Manager to define, pivot, and deliver strategic projects that drive profitable growth. Operating as an agile startup within the broader Uber ecosystem, our team has the permission and mandate to ideate, build, and launch ideas at an accelerated pace. This role requires an adaptable, highly capable operator who blends strategic thinking, deep business acumen, and an entrepreneurial bias for action.
As a senior member of the Postmates Operations team, you will thrive in highly ambiguous environments. You will utilize your strong foundation in data to connect the dots across operations, finance, and commercial teams, manipulating consumer and merchant levers to enable innovative, growth-forward initiatives for millions of Postmates customers.
What You'll Do
- Observe & Strategize: As a critical thinker, obsess over consumer behaviors, platform trends, and the broader business objectives for Postmates and Uber. Ask the hard questions and identify high-impact opportunities in a highly competitive market.
- Collaborate & Influence: Work seamlessly with cross-functional counterparts to drive the business forward. Partner with Finance to lead forecasting, collaborate with Eater Operations to assess pricing, promotions, and memberships, and work closely with Commercial teams to understand how to maximize the value of restaurant partners on the platform.
- Ideate & Scale: Create innovative strategies for complex business problems without clearly defined playbooks. Take advantage of our nimble structure to test and iterate rapidly. Define OKRs, build robust business cases, and quantify projects that drive cross-platform value across both Uber Eats and Postmates.
- Advocate: Develop presentations, reports, and analyses to shape strategy and execution. Report to senior leadership on the progress of critical workstreams, acting as an ambassador for Postmates and proactively flagging sensitivities and market shifts.
- Operationalize Projects: Build, launch, run, and scale operational solutions that drive trial, engagement, and retention. Take accountability for project outcomes, leading post-analyses and ensuring delivery on critical business metrics while maintaining a high velocity of execution.
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional work experience
- Bachelors degree
- Fluency with data analytics, statistical methods,
- SQL proficiency required
Preferred Qualifications
- Critical and structured thinking, with a natural curiosity and confidence to seek out answers, and propose solutions where there may not yet be an answer
- Natural collaborator, and someone who proactively partners across teams, able to influence senior and external stakeholders
- Exceptional communicator across written and spoken communications, with an ability to clearly articulate complex concepts
- Proven track record of managing cross-functional stakeholders and leading complex operational projects from zero to one.
- Strong project management skills, comfortable working independently
- Self-motivated, solutions-orientated, with a bias for impact and action
- Comfortable understanding the P&L and financial fundamentals
- Entrepreneurial mentality as a builder or fixer of businesses or processes
- Familiarity with AI tools and techniques including agentic AI
- Prior experience consulting or strategy, project or operations management, or a related field
For New York City, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD $131,000 per year - USD $145,000 per year.
You will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. All full-time employees are eligible to participate in a 401(k) plan. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
