Entity Accountant (1-year Contract)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Accounting Operations
- Manage daily accounting activities and ensure all transactions are accurately recorded in accordance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
- Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and sub-ledgers.
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of financial records.
Month-End and Year-End Closing
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities.
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and investigate unusual variances.
- Ensure all closing deadlines are met accurately and on time.
- Coordinate with shared service teams and other stakeholders during the closing process.
Manufacturing and Inventory Accounting
- Support and monitor physical inventory counts and cycle counts.
- Analyze inventory movements, production variances, and inventory adjustments.
- Review costing-related transactions and support cost accounting activities.
- Ensure compliance with corporate inventory control requirements.
Financial Reporting
- Prepare monthly management reports and financial analysis.
- Support local statutory reporting requirements.
- Monitor key financial risks and identify areas for improvement.
Tax and Compliance
- Support preparation and review of tax declarations, including VAT, CIT, and withholding tax filings.
- Ensure compliance with local accounting regulations and tax requirements.
- Coordinate with tax consultants, auditors, and government authorities when necessary.
Audit and Internal Controls
- Coordinate internal and external audits.
- Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation.
- Ensure proper internal control procedures are implemented and maintained.
- Identify process weaknesses and recommend corrective actions.
Leadership and Team Support
- Act as the backup for the Accounting Lead during temporary absence.
- Provide guidance and support to AP, AR, and other accounting team members.
- Coordinate accounting activities across functions to ensure smooth operations.
- Drive process improvements and standardization initiatives.
Other Duties
- Participate in system enhancements, automation projects, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform ad hoc assignments and projects as requested by management.

QUALIFICATIONS
1. Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
- CPA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent professional qualification is a plus.
2. Experience
- Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
- Hands-on experience in general ledger, inventory accounting, and financial reporting.
- Experience handling audits, tax matters, and statutory reporting.
- Experience in multinational companies is preferred.
3. Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards and financial reporting.
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes and inventory controls.
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP SEA, Concur, COUPA.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
4. Competencies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines.
- Good command of written and spoken English.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Solid experience in manufacturing accounting and inventory management.
- Able to independently manage month-end closing and reporting activities.
- Capable of acting as Accounting Lead during temporary staffing gaps.
- Strong business partnering mindset and continuous improvement orientation.
