Computer Vision Engineer

Industry: High-End Camera Inspection Systems

Location: Hasselt, Belgium

Experience: 0-3 years

We are supporting a specialist engineering company focused on high-end camera integration and industrial inspection systems used in advanced manufacturing environments.

They are now looking to strengthen their team with a Computer Vision Engineer.

This role is also very open to recent Master’s graduates, particularly those with strong exposure to computer vision, image processing, or embedded/software engineering projects.

It can be an excellent first professional step into industry for someone looking to apply their academic knowledge in a real-world, hands-on environment.

Role Overview:

You will work on the development, optimisation, and deployment of computer vision systems used for inspection and quality control.

The role combines software development with real-world system debugging and occasional on-site support at client facilities.

Some travel is required (fully expensed), mainly for system installation, debugging, and supporting vision machinery in production environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain computer vision algorithms for industrial inspection systems
  • Work with real-time image processing pipelines using C++ and OpenCV
  • Support integration of vision systems with hardware and industrial machinery
  • Troubleshoot and optimise systems both in-house and at client sites
  • Collaborate with engineering teams on system design and deployment

Tech Stack / Requirements:

  • Strong C++ programming skills (essential)
  • Experience or academic exposure to OpenCV or similar vision libraries
  • Understanding of computer vision fundamentals (image processing, feature detection, etc.)
  • Electronics or hardware awareness is a plus but not required
  • Comfortable working in a hands-on engineering environment

Profile:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Robotics, or related field (recent graduates welcome)
  • Interest in applied computer vision and real-world industrial systems
  • Problem-solving mindset and willingness to work on-site when needed
  • Fluent English required
  • Dutch or French is required

What’s on Offer:

  • First professional opportunity for Master’s graduates or early-career engineers
  • Exposure to real industrial vision systems in production environments
  • Hands-on engineering role combining software, hardware, and client interaction
  • Fully expensed travel when visiting client sites
  • Opportunity to grow within a specialist technical environment

If you're interested in applying your computer vision knowledge in a practical, engineering-led environment, this could be a strong entry point into industry.
