Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain Java-based applications and services
- Build scalable, secure, and high-availability systems using modern Java frameworks
- Lead technical design discussions and contribute to architecture decisions
- Interact with stakeholders and deliver technical presentations
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code (unit, integration, and automated tests)
- Optimize application performance, reliability, and security
- Review code and mentor junior and mid-level engineers
- Collaborate with product managers, QA, DevOps, and other stakeholders
- Participate in agile ceremonies (planning, stand-ups, retrospectives)
- Provide root cause analysis for complex production issues
- 7+ years of experience as a Java Developer
- Strong hands-on experience with Spring Boot and the Spring Framework
- Solid knowledge of microservices architecture (service discovery, circuit breaker, containerization, centralized logging)
- Experience working with legacy applications and modernization initiatives
- Proven experience upgrading applications from Java 11 to newer versions (preferably Java 17 or Java 21)
- Experience in the payments domain
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
- Experience developing and integrating web services (REST, SOAP)
- Experience with persistence frameworks (Hibernate, JPA)
- Strong SQL knowledge (Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL)
- Knowledge of NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra)
- Experience with messaging systems (JMS, Kafka, RabbitMQ)
- Experience with build & CI/CD tools (Maven, Gradle, Jenkins, GitLab, Docker, etc.)
- Experience with automated testing (JUnit, Mockito, Testcontainers, integration and end-to-end testing)
- Fluency in English
- Knowledge of modern JavaScript frameworks (Angular, React, Vue.js)
- Kubernetes (K8s) knowledge
- Experience with contract testing and TDD
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.)
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation)
