Entry Level Lansa Programmer

We are seeking an Entry level LANSA Programmer to join our IT development team. The ideal candidate will have education and/or experience in LANSA (a low-code development platform) or any Object Oriented programming language. This role will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise applications in our custom software solution. The role requires strong problem-solving skills, the ability to work independently or as part of a team, and a daily great attitude.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

· Design, develop, and maintain applications using LANSA (Visual LANSA, RDML, RDMLX).

· Enhance existing applications and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal performance.

· Integrate LANSA-based applications with databases, APIs, and third-party systems.

· Develop and maintain IBM i (AS/400) applications, including CL, RPG, and DB2 interactions.

· Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, and end users to gather requirements.

· Optimize LANSA applications for performance, security, and scalability.

· Provide support and documentation for developed applications.

· Stay up to date with LANSA best practices and emerging technologies.

· Perform QC and Regression testing before working with Business Analysts and users for UAT

Qualifications:

· Experience in LANSA development, including Visual LANSA ( v14+), Lansa Frameworks

· Knowledge of IBM i (AS/400), RPG, CL, DB2, and SQL is a plus.

· Experience in modernization of legacy systems using LANSA.

· Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC).

· Ability to troubleshoot and debug applications effectively.

· Experience with web-enabled LANSA applications (VL WEB).

· Familiarity with integration of LANSA with external systems (APIs, web services).

· Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.

** Willing to train the right candidate with experience in Object Oriented Programming (OOP) ( Web or GUI )

Specific Skills, Abilities:

· Experience with LANSA Integrator or LANSA Mobile development.

· Prior experience in manufacturing, logistics, finance, or healthcare industries using LANSA.

Organizational Relationships / Management Role:

No management responsibility.

Reports directly to the Director of IT Applications. Works closely with the Business Analyst, entire IT team, and other critical business leads for all departments and divisions.
