Junior Data Extraction/Integration Engineer

Job description

Skyline Analytics, a business consulting firm specializing in data analytics, FP&A consulting, and dynamic reporting, seeks a Junior Data Extraction/Integration Engineer to join our team. The Junior Data Extraction/Integration Engineer will have familiarity with a wide range of data extraction/integration solutions and efficient data architecture. In coordination with our other engineers, you will be responsible for both the technical development of brand-new data pipelines from a wide range of data sources related to new clients and any necessary maintenance, support, and upgrades to existing data architectures related to existing clients.

The ability to write code to extract, transform, and integrate small and large datasets using a variety of APIs and more inaccessible data repositories (flat files, blobs, web-based spreadsheets) with cost effectiveness (matching system cost to client need), user experience, (i.e. speed/responsiveness), and security is a must. The Junior Data Extraction/Integration Engineer will also be responsible for monitoring all company-wide data flows to identify and troubleshoot issues as they arise and implement system improvements over time. We are a custom solution provider, so a wide breath of experience/knowledge and willingness to think outside-the-box is also a must.

Note that this is for an in-office position and also requires an in-person interview. Only local candidates will be considered.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or closely related field.
• Experience with object-oriented programming including familiarity with one of the following languages: Python, JavaScript, Java, C/C++, C#.
• Strong foundation in data structures and algorithms.
• Experience writing software interacting with SQL servers.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1+ year of backend software engineering experience and/or internship experience.
• Experience developing software interacting with RESTful APIs.
• Knowledge of the Azure cloud platform, Azure DevOps, and Fabric.

Salary: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year commensurate with experience
