Software Engineer: Building the Engine Room of Trading

Are you passionate about building business critical trading software where every microsecond counts? Do you thrive in an environment that values code quality and collaboration with genuinely sharp peers?

A fast moving, technology driven trading firm based in Copenhagen is looking for a Software Engineer to join their growing technical team. This isn't a back office IT role. It isn't a typical financial services dev job. It's a chance to build and optimise the systems that power live trading, working hand in hand with the quants and traders who depend on them.

What You'll Do:

🔧 Build the Algorithms – Implement, verify and optimise the financial algorithms that drive live trading decisions.

🏗 Engineer the Infrastructure – Create the tooling that supports analysis of new algorithms and execution of existing ones.

⚡ Solve Hard Problems – Tackle performance challenges across GC, networking and parallelisation in a high intensity environment.

🔍 Sharpen the Feedback Loop – Improve automated monitoring so issues are caught fast and confidence in the system stays high.

🤝 Partner with Quants – Work daily alongside quantitative analysts and traders, bridging the gap between research and production.

The Team:

You'll join a team of 25 engineers who take real pride in their work, in an informal environment where technical discussion is valued and ownership is the norm. You'll set your own priorities, choose your own tools, and see your work go from inception to deployment in a matter of hours, not months.

What They're Looking For:

  • 0 to 3 years of experience with C#, strong recent graduates welcome
  • An excellent academic record, ideally in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or Physics
  • Working knowledge of (T)SQL
  • A solid grasp of algorithms and data structures, and when to apply them
  • A scientific, inquisitive mind
  • Nice to have: experience with low latency systems, exposure to C, C++, Python or Matlab, SQL Server tuning, or a PhD/MSc in Computer Science

What They Offer:

🏢 A modern harbourfront office in Copenhagen (Nordhavn) with a flexible hybrid model

🤝 A flat hierarchy with high trust, autonomy and freedom to make decisions

🚀 Fast feedback and real recognition in a high growth company

🎉 Strong team spirit, with successes celebrated through company events and trips

💰 Competitive benefits, including pension, health insurance and 30 days of holiday
