The role combines technical experience across the stack with collaborative skills to work effectively with DevOps, design teams, and other stakeholders in creating scalable, secure, and high-quality applications.
Tasks And Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance software components, applying appropriate coding standards and best practices for the relevant technology stack.
- Design, build, and optimise application interfaces and/or APIs to enable secure, efficient, and scalable system interactions.
- Contribute to system architecture and solution design, including participation in technical decision making and proof-of-concept work.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code, and actively participate in peer code reviews to ensure quality and consistency.
- Develop and maintain automated testing (unit, integration, and end-to-end as appropriate) to ensure application reliability and performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, product managers, and engineers, to deliver user-focused, high-quality solutions.
- Support deployment and operational processes, including CI/CD pipelines, environment management, and monitoring, while troubleshooting and resolving issues.
- Bachelor or Graduate Degree in computer engineer, computer science, engineering or information technology or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages and frameworks relevant to the role (e.g., JavaScript/TypeScript, C#, Java, or similar).
- Solid understanding of core web technologies and principles (e.g., APIs, application architecture, data structures, and system design fundamentals).
- Experience developing and consuming APIs, with an understanding of integration patterns, data formats (e.g., JSON), and API design principles.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and modern application hosting approaches (e.g., containerisation, serverless, or platform services).
- Working knowledge of databases and data access techniques, including relational databases and use of abstraction/ORM tools where appropriate.
- Experience using version control systems (e.g., Git) and contributing to CI/CD pipelines and automated build and deployment processes.
- Ability to write and maintain automated tests (unit, integration, and end-to-end) to support quality and reliability.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to debug, troubleshoot, and improve application performance and reliability.
- Previous experience in fleet management or financial services is ideal.
- Knowledge of Agile process tools and associated CI/CD tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, GIT etc).
- Knowledge of other Microsoft related tools & products (e.g., Dynamics 365, Visio etc).
- Azure Certification in development domain.
- Strong problem-solving mindset, with the ability to analyse issues and develop practical, effective solutions.
- Collaborative team player who communicates clearly and works well with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Proactive and accountable, taking ownership of tasks and seeing them through to completion.
- Adaptable and open to change, with the ability to work across different technologies and priorities.
- Detail-oriented, with a focus on quality, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
