What You'll Be Doing
- Design, develop, and test real-time firmware for network-ready CPU platforms and controller boards using C and C++.
- Build, customize, and maintain embedded Linux kernels, custom device drivers, and system-level software to interface with Ethernet-based smart hardware.
- Collaborate with hardware engineering teams to bring up prototype boards and integrate network communication protocols, including EtherNet/IP, Profinet, and Industry 4.0 IoT standards.
- Support and expand the firmware backing the API to allow seamless remote equipment control and automation.
- Contribute actively to core firmware architecture, hardware-software partitioning, and object-oriented software design decisions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of two (2) years of relevant professional experience developing real-time embedded systems in C and C++.
- Experience developing multithreaded firmware utilizing Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) or POSIX interprocess communication (IPC) frameworks.
- Practical experience in application, kernel support, and driver development under Embedded Linux environments.
- Hands-on familiarity using hardware debugging tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG emulators.
- Knowledge of industrial networking integration, specifically EtherNet/IP, Profinet, and IIoT frameworks.
