The role is offered as a hybrid position with 2–3 days per week onsite in our Dublin, Sandyford office.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, test, and maintain secure, scalable, and reliable backend software applications.
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, designers, architects, QA, security, and data teams to deliver solutions that meet user and business needs.
- Contribute to the design and evolution of cloud-based, serverless architectures within AWS environments.
- Build and enhance backend capabilities that support assessment workflows, consent management, analytics, partner handoff processes, and provider or CRM integrations.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code aligned with engineering best practices.
- Participate in code reviews, pair programming, design discussions, and knowledge-sharing activities.
- Support and mentor fellow engineers through collaboration and technical guidance.
- Leverage AI-powered engineering tools to improve developer productivity across backend services, testing, infrastructure, and documentation.
- Investigate and resolve software defects, integration challenges, and performance issues.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes, delivery pipelines, observability, and release readiness.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline involving coding.
- Proficiency in Python and a strong understanding of object-oriented design and clean code principles.
- Experience with AWS services, particularly serverless technologies such as Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, and CloudFront.
- Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Understanding of RESTful API design, authentication and authorisation concepts, and microservices architecture.
- Familiarity with message-brokering technologies and event-driven architectures.
- Experience working with NoSQL and relational databases.
- Exposure to DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines, Git, Docker, and monitoring or logging tools.
- Understanding of software testing approaches, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Comfortable working in agile development environments using tools such as Jira, Confluence, and GitHub.
- A collaborative approach and a genuine desire to learn, grow, and support others.
- Exposure to CRM or Salesforce-related workflows.
- Experience supporting reporting and analytics integrations.
- Experience developing modern web applications using JavaScript/TypeScript together with React.js and/or Next.js is a big plus.
