Delta Air Lines is seeking a Full-Stack Software Engineer for the API Acceleration team. This role is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining enterprise API tooling, automated testing frameworks, and developer platform experiences. Key Responsibilities

  • Platform Engineering: Design and develop full-stack features for internal API products, including UI components, backend services, and cloud environments.
  • Framework Automation: Build and sustain automated API testing frameworks, collection management services, and developer self-service workflows.
  • Standards & Testing: Write clean, documented, and testable code adhering strictly to corporate standards and CI/CD automated testing matrices.
  • API Governance: Contribute to the enterprise API Catalog features, including onboarding flows, metadata management, and consumer/producer experiences.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with security, identity, and infrastructure teams to ensure tools meet compliance thresholds, and participate in Agile ceremonies.

What You Need To Succeed (Minimum Qualifications)

  • Experience: 2 to 5 years of professional, hands-on software development experience.
  • Frontend: Strong proficiency with TypeScript or JavaScript, and React (or a similar modern framework).
  • API & Cloud: Experience building REST, GraphQL APIs and familiarity with AWS cloud services ( Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, API Gateway, AppSync).
  • Tooling: Experience with Infrastructure as Code (CDK, CloudFormation, or SAM) and Git-based source control (GitLab or equivalent).
  • Execution: Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and collaborative cross-team communication.
  • Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
  • Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
  • Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
  • Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Backend & Systems: Experience with Node.js backend development and serverless or containerized architectures (Docker, OpenShift, ECS).
  • API Standards: Familiarity with OpenAPI specifications, API design patterns, and enterprise governance protocols.
  • Security & Modern Tools: Knowledge of authentication patterns (OAuth, OIDC) and exposure to AI-assisted tools (GitHub Copilot, Kiro).
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Ownership: Demonstrates clear accountability for technical deliverables and team culture.
  • Agility: Continuously learns, adapts to new technologies, and values constructive feedback.
