Job Responsibilities
- Software design & development: design and develop the software modules that implement core systems functions such as robot/scanner control, and vision systems.
- System integration: collaborate with hardware, mechanical, and electronic engineers to integrate and optimize the overall system.
- System test & verification: perform unit, integration, and system testing, and build simulation environments to verify software performance.
- Analysis and improvement of existing legacy code.
- Technical support: provide technical support for customer software issues (on-site/remote), including on-site commissioning, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions in Houston.
- Technical documentation: document the development process and results.
Location & Commitments
- Full-time position based in Houston, Texas (USA), Monday–Friday, working at Laservall’s U.S. base and on customer manufacturing floors (includes occasional domestic/overseas field travel).
- Available to start from September 1, 2026.
- Initial training of approximately one month at Laservall’s engineering site in South Korea (travel and accommodation provided), followed by machine installation and commissioning in Houston.
- Overtime may be required to meet project deadlines.
- Weekend/night work may occasionally be required.
Required
- Bachelor’s degree or above (computer engineering, electronic engineering, or a related major preferred).
- Proficiency in programming languages including C/C++, MFC, and C#.
- 5+ years of experience in automation systems control
- Strong communication skills and the ability to analyze complex technical problems and propose solutions.
- Authorized to work permanently in the U.S. — U.S. Permanent Resident (Green Card) holder or U.S. citizen (no visa sponsorship for this position).
- Able to read and communicate in professional English.
- Able to live in or relocate to the Houston, TX area.
- Available to start by September 1, 2026, and to attend ~1 month of initial training in South Korea.
Preferred
- Experience with machine vision, image processing, motion control, or HMI development.
- 10+ years of relevant engineering experience.
- Hands-on experience with automation equipment in mass-production / high-volume manufacturing environments.
- Experience supporting major manufacturing clients that operate automation lines.
- Korean or Chinese language ability (a plus, not required).
- Leadership, project management, and client-facing capability — eligible for additional compensation.
