Associate Web Developer

We are adding an Associate Web Developer to our team to help us support a major project for our partner, a major French multinational. This role is not about building flashy consumer apps or marketing sites. Instead, you will be working on the internal tools, admin panels, and data systems that allow a large organization to function. Because Pixel Systems is a fully remote agency, you will be working from your own space as you help us build the functional software these teams rely on every day.

About Pixel Systems
Pixel Systems is a small, remote software agency that builds the tools teams actually use. We do not do flashy marketing work. Instead, we focus on the practical stuff: admin panels, CRM integrations, and the database migrations that people usually try to avoid. Our clients come to us when they need to replace a sprawling spreadsheet with a real database or get their different software tools to finally talk to one another. We believe that working code is better than a perfect plan that never ships. Our approach is straightforward. We provide fixed quotes before we start, we do weekly demos, and we hand over everything when we are finished. We use reliable, well-tested technologies because we want the software we build to be stable and easy to maintain.

The role
As an Associate Web Developer, you will work alongside our senior developers to build and maintain the systems our clients use to run their businesses. Your work will often involve moving data between systems, cleaning up legacy code, or building the glue that helps different APIs communicate. You will be responsible for building small features, fixing bugs, and writing the documentation that explains how everything works. This is a role where you will see the immediate results of your work as it gets used by operations teams and managers. Since we are a remote company, you will manage your own time while staying in sync with the rest of the team through regular updates and code reviews.

What we are looking for
We need someone who is organized and writes code that other people can read. You do not need to be an expert yet, but you should have a solid understanding of how web applications are put together. We value clarity over cleverness. You should be comfortable with the idea that not every project is flashy. Much of our most important work involves making sure data is accurate and systems are reliable. We are looking for someone who is curious, willing to ask questions when they are stuck, and comfortable working independently in a remote environment. Being able to explain your logic clearly is just as important as the code you write.

Helpful background
While this is an entry level position, it is helpful if you have some familiarity with the technologies we use. We do not expect mastery, but basic experience with any of these will help you get started:

• Basic knowledge of Node.js for server side logic.
• Familiarity with React or a similar frontend framework.
• An understanding of how to write basic queries in Postgres or other SQL databases.
• Experience using GitHub for version control and managing your code.
• A basic understanding of how to connect to and use REST APIs.
• Experience building small personal projects or school assignments that solve a specific problem.
• The ability to write clear, simple documentation for the code you create.
