The vacancy is a software development position for aircraft control and monitoring systems. You will join a team of engineers designing operating software and application software for embedded systems in safety-critical equipment, which is working on next-generation controllers for more electrical aircrafts.

Responsibilities

• Contribution to the development of safety-critical embedded real-time software for aircraft systems according to RTCA/DO-178B guidelines (Level A to Level D)
• Autonomous working according to company’s and project-specific processes
• Support the tailoring of development processes to project-specific needs
• Support the specification of software high-level requirements
• Development of software low-level requirements
• Software programming in C programming language
• Software debugging, integration, and analysis
• Support the design of internal and external interfaces
• Design/adaptation of existing solutions for new applications by using dedicated/standardized tools
• Support the definition of “Statement of Work' to be presented to potential suppliers
• Configuration control/change management of all items produced using applicable tools (e.g. Synergy, Dimensions) according to the applicable Configuration Management Plan

Qualifications/Experience Needed

• Graduate Software Engineer (or equivalent knowledge and skills acquired by other means)
• Experience in software development for at least 3 years
• Good English capabilities, both spoken and written, at least B2 (CEFR)
• Specification of high-level and low-level software requirements (SRS, SDDD)
• Programming experience in C and/or Assembler programming language

Desired Additional Skills

• V-model development cycle (preferably of safety-critical software acc. to RTCA/DO-178)
• Experience with the usage of hardware in the loop test facilities
• Python Test Script Language
• In-Circuit Debugger (Lauterbach)
• MISRA guidelines (C)
• DOORS
• Configuration management in SVN, IBM Rational Synergy/Change, or Serena Dimensions
• IBM Rational Test RealTime
