About This Opportunity
In the position of a Software Engineer (f/m/d) in Life Science and Diagnostics at QIAGEN, you will be making improvements in life possible – every working day. We are looking for you to help us shape our product development with skill and passion. You will work with our system and software teams to develop instrument control software for laboratory devices as well as data analysis software to process test results helping our customers to get valuable insights from a biological sample.
Your Tasks
- As a Software Engineer you will typically work in project teams of 5-10 people and gain experience in different roles throughout the life cycle of a software development project.
- You will start as a software developer or (automated) software tester in one of our scrum teams. Throughout your professional career you will have the opportunity to grow into senior roles such as senior engineer, product owner, software architect or verification manager.
- You will work across teams and across sites to generate the best possible solution for our products in a complex environment of Biology, Chemistry, Mechanics, Electronics and Software.
- You will be based at QIAGEN Hilden, our operational headquarter and will have the opportunity to visit our international development sites in Aarhus, Denmark or Wroclaw, Poland to strengthen and refine your software development capabilities.
- You have a master’s degree in computer science, with a minor in medicine, science or engineering
- You show a strong interest in software and product development and have already gained first professional experience.
- You love science and have a strong analytical mindset that strives to analyze, understand and solve problems.
- You are highly organized, work independently and easily adapt to changing work environment.
- You show excellent communication skills in both, English and German (C1 level)
- Ideally, you are familiar with working with AI-powered development tools or large language models to automate software development lifecycle processes. Experience with connecting AI agents with third-party systems using Model Context Protocol (MCP) is a plus
