Senior Backend Engineer - Node.js

Are you a seasoned backend engineer who thrives on building scalable, mission-critical systems? We are looking for a Lead Node.js Backend Developer to anchor the development of high-performance backend infrastructure within the high-growth Fintech space.

In this role, you will bridge technical leadership, cloud architecture, and clean coding practices. You’ll be driving architectural decisions for high-volume, low-latency financial tech solutions, working with a modern stack centered around Node.js, AWS, and robust data systems.

• Drive Architecture: Design and develop high-volume, low-latency API services and mission-critical backend systems ensuring high availability.
• Provide Technical Leadership: Write clean, testable, and highly efficient code while mentoring team members and driving architectural reviews.
• Own the SDLC: Participate in all phases of the development lifecycle, from initial system design to secure production releases.
• Cloud & Data Management: Leverage AWS services to build and deploy cloud-native applications; design and optimize relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL database systems.
• Foster DevOps Culture: Integrate closely with automated CI/CD pipelines, keeping system security and infrastructure scalability top of mind.

• Backend Mastery: Extensive, hands-on experience building scalable backend systems using Node.js (TypeScript proficiency is highly preferred).
• Fintech Background: (Required) Prior professional experience working within Fintech, digital payments, or financial systems.
• Deep Technical Insight: Strong understanding of Node.js internals, event-driven architecture, asynchronous programming, and memory management.
• Data Layer Expertise: Advanced experience working with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL solutions.
• Cloud Infrastructure: Solid experience building and deploying services natively on AWS.
• Core Engineering Principles: Strong grasp of software design patterns, clean code practices, and Object-Oriented/Functional programming paradigms.
• Education & Soft Skills: Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, backed by clear and effective communication skills.

• Good understanding of DevOps principles, containerization, and modern deployment methodologies.
• Practical experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) and testing frameworks (e.g., Jest).
• Experience navigating fast-paced Agile/Scrum environments.
• Knowledge of security best practices regarding sensitive financial data.
