Job title - Senior Application Developer
Job location - New York, NY 10271.
Project Duration: 18+ months
Required hours - 35 hours per week
Note: It's a Fully Onsite Role and In person interview is required.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Candidates must possess a minimum of 4 years of experience matching the City Labor Category Description for Programmer 2.
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), or a related field is required.
- Candidates must have proven experience of 12 or more years as a full-stack .NET Developer.
- Hands-on expertise is required in C#, ASP.NET, .NET Core, .NET 9.0, MVC, Entity Framework, SQL Server, and Azure.
- A solid understanding of front-end technologies is required, specifically HTML5, CSS, JavaScript libraries, and frameworks such as React or Angular.
- Experience with RESTful API development and integration is mandatory.
- Candidates must demonstrate experience working with geospatial data types within Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle/Oracle Spatial, and PostgreSQL/PostGIS databases.
- Familiarity with web-based geospatial visualization and map library integrations is necessary.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and continuous integration and delivery tools is required.
- Candidates must have experience with application lifecycle management tools, specifically Azure DevOps and GitHub extensions.
- Experience using Git and GitHub for version control, as well as release management practices, is necessary.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are mandatory, as the candidate must interact professionally with executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
Project Scope and Core Responsibilities
- The developer will lead and participate in system development using the Microsoft .NET, C#, and SQL Server technology stack to modernize the client's current maintenance system.
- The developer must identify, analyze, and create interfaces and integration flows utilizing the Visual Studio Application platform.
- The developer is responsible for utilizing Azure services, including Azure App Service, Azure SQL Database, and Azure Functions, to construct scalable cloud-based applications.
- The consultant will be required to integrate GIS applications and data with existing enterprise systems.
- The consultant will manage, process, and perform analysis on spatial data from various sources.
- Responsibilities include troubleshooting and debugging complex application issues to ensure system stability is maintained.
- The consultant must produce and maintain technical documentation, covering system designs, workflows, and user guides.
- The consultant will prepare necessary documentation and lead knowledge transition activities to aid adoption across the organization.
