①Recruitment Background

Following its acquisition of a US enterprise in 2021, the company has evolved into a global platform connecting the insights of over 800,000 experts across 190 countries. Currently, several highly complex technical transformation projects are underway across the organization, including a large-scale migration to Vue 3 and application decoupling aimed at transitioning to a microservices architecture.

The company is seeking senior engineers who can drive these transformations from both a technical and organizational standpoint, accelerating the business to its next stage of growth.

②Responsibilities

You will lead the development and operation of a wide variety of products, including BtoB and BtoC applications as well as internal tools. As a Senior Engineer, your mission extends beyond pure implementation; you will maximize the performance of the entire organization through technical selection and process improvement.

1. Direct Contribution to Business Growth

・Strategic New Feature & Product Development: Lead the design and implementation of new features that maximize user experience, organizing complex business logic to accelerate the growth of both core and new services.

・Co-creation with the Business Side: Collaborate closely with Product Managers and business stakeholders to uncover the "true challenges" behind requirements, defining and proposing the most effective technical solutions.

2. Technology-Driven Engineering Productivity

・Leading Mid-to-Long-Term Technical Refactoring: Propose and execute initiatives that ensure future scalability, such as breaking away from monolithic environments, executing large-scale migrations to Vue 3, and transitioning to FastAPI.

・Establishing Engineering Standards: Build frameworks that elevate overall team development efficiency and quality by establishing/improving coding conventions, selecting and updating libraries, and developing shared components.

3. High-Level Project Execution and Leadership

・End-to-End Development Ownership: Lead the entire development lifecycle—from requirements definition and design to implementation, code reviews, and testing—ensuring the highest standard of technical quality.

・Managing Efficient Development Cycles: Properly manage ticket lifecycles and prioritize tasks to cultivate an environment where the team can maintain high throughput and focus without friction.

4. Advanced Operations and Continuous Improvement

・Achieving Sustainable System Operations: Extract root causes from incident responses and user inquiries, implement functional improvements to prevent recurrence, and introduce mechanisms to automate and streamline operations and maintenance.

・Supporting Data-Driven Decision Making: Streamline SQL creation and data extraction processes required for business analysis, accelerating the overall product improvement lifecycle.

③Technical Challenges & Upcoming Initiatives

■Embracing Modernization and Addressing Technical Debt

Due to years of continuous operation, the platform currently retains a monolithic legacy environment alongside older-generation frameworks like Vue 2 and AngularJS. The team is actively driving a comprehensive technical overhaul centered around decoupling the application into a microservices-inspired architecture and migrating to Vue 3.

■Product Redefinition and Architectural Overhaul

The launch and rapid scaling of new services have increased the complexity of existing product roles. To ensure long-term scalability, the team is restructuring the core infrastructure by splitting frontend sites based on user personas (Clients vs. Experts) and migrating the backend from Django to FastAPI.

■Data Utilization and Cross-Functional Platform Engineering

Improving search and recommendation accuracy across all services, alongside solving shared technical challenges (such as unified authentication/authorization and shared internal libraries), has become a core priority. The company is advancing R&D efforts through data cleanup and Generative AI integration, while a company-wide platform engineering team continuously updates the foundational shared infrastructure.

【Required】

・Experience in developing in-house products

・Experience developing with AI coding agents (such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or Devin)

・Practical experience in one of the following areas (approximately 5+ years)

- Backend development using Python (FastAPI, etc.), Ruby (Rails), PHP (Laravel), etc.

- Frontend development using Vue.js

・Business-level Japanese (equivalent to N1)

As a leader candidate, individuals who can demonstrate their strengths and drive impact in the following areas are highly welcome:

■Team/Product Lead

・Experience as a team leader, PM, or EM (Engineering Manager)

・Experience collaborating with non-engineering team members (PMs, designers, sales, etc.) to grow a service

・Experience working end-to-end on projects—from requirements definition to architecture design, implementation, and operations—regardless of project scale

■Engineering Process

・Experience in development and operations using multiple programming languages or web application frameworks

・Experience in proper design of RDBMS (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and query optimization

・Experience in building and operating development environments using Docker, etc.

・Experience in quality control through code reviews, and in establishing and improving development guidelines

・Experience designing and implementing efficient data integration and state management between front-end and back-end systems

・Experience with performance tuning and development/operation in high-traffic environments

・Experience developing systems using search engines such as Elasticsearch or Solr
