Summary
The Program Team Leader (Level 2) will assist in designing, leading, and providing oversight for the successful implementation of recreational and fitness programs, services, and events in the Culture and Recreation Department.
Requirements
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Greet the public, respond to inquiries, and provide a high standard of customer service.
- Provide regular mentoring to part-time Culture and Recreation staff, through formal and informal methods.
- Interact with program, rental, and event participants during activities and assist where necessary to help facilitate the successful implementation of activities. This includes but is not limited to assisting with set-up, implementation, and tear down of programs, services, and events.
- Ensure the safety and supervision of all programs, service, and event participants in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Ensure the provision of safe, enjoyable recreational programs, services, and events and ensure all activities are appropriate for the intended audience.
- Communicate with the public, program participants, parents/guardians to provide feedback regarding incidents, injuries, or other matters of concern.
- Maintain a pleasant, clean, and safe environment to avoid foreseeable accidents.
- Present a professional appearance and attitude at all times.
- Complete all required reports including but not limited to attendance, accident/incident reports, statistics, etc.
- Respond to all incidents, accidents, and/or emergencies in accordance with established standards.
- Participate in meetings and in-service training as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills
- Current Standard First Aid with CPR 'C' and AED
- High Five Certification
- Previous experience with the Town of LaSalle
- Previous experience with ACTIVE Net recreation software
- Duties shall be performed both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
- Manual dexterity to use desktop computer, peripherals, and the ability to actively participate in day camp activities, swimming pool, etc.
- Safety equipment as required
- Hours of work Sunday - Saturday, days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
- Up to 44 hours per week
- Physical work environment requiring extended periods of walking, standing, crouching, bending, sitting, and swimming
- Part-time Culture and Recreation staff
